Honey has long been used to promote healthy skin. The legendary beauty and queen of Egypt, Cleopatra, swore by a milk and honey bath as part of her regime each morning. As Cal Orey explains from The Healing Powers of Honey, “It’s no beauty secret that honey combined with other natural ingredients can enhance your blood circulation and makes your skin feel silky.” (p. 179) Try this Beechwood Honey and sugar scrub to exfoliate your skin and leave it feeling moisturized and smooth. Just mix 1/4 of a cup of honey and 1 tablespoon of sugar to create a scrub. You can use this on your face or body depending on what areas are most dry. Be sure to rinse off after you scrub.

Wedderspoon Raw Organic Beechwood Honey , also known as Honeydew Honey, has one of the highest antioxidant and mineral contents of any honey and is also great for your skin. This silky, smooth, non-floral honey comes from two species of trees in New Zealand’s beech forests and gets its name from the droplets of nectar that glisten in the morning sun like dew. Beechwood honey also promotes healthy digestion due to the high number of oligosaccharides (pre-biotics). One jar of Beechwood honey is equal to 100 cups of green tea!

Honey also can aid in moisturizing dry, chapped lips that come from the harsh, long winter. One way to keep your lips nice and moisturized is by using Wedderspoon’s Queen of the Hive Lip Balm. Our lip balm contains Manuka honey that will help your lips to not only absorb moisture but also to retain it. This honey contains vitamins, amino acids, and antioxidants that are beneficial to your skin. Since your skin is so important, why not take the time to scrub, moisturize, and smooth your skin to prepare for warm, spring weather?
