There’s a time and place for everything. Sometimes, I love a challenge in the kitchen – a recipe that requires patience, meticulousness and a day’s worth of devotion. Other days, putting together healthy meals is a struggle. So, as with the majority of the recipes we post here on the blog, I wanted to share this tasty, wholesome and unique treat with you all! Plus, it only takes about 10 minutes to prepare! We are seriously looking forward to wowing our guests with this one at our next barbecue. Can’t decide which honey to choose? Thankfully, our new 150 gram size jars of Wild Dandelion, Wild Rata and Beechwood make it easy to try them all!

Simply mix your favorite yogurt (we love organic vanilla yogurt for this) and a spoonful of any of our raw honeys! Add any other flavors or textures you want (think coconut shavings, toasted nuts or cinnamon). Enjoy with the grilled fruit of your choice!

Wild Dandelion honey

This bright yellow, raw dandelion honey delivers a strong, tangy zing of flavor! Sourced from the pastoral grazing country of the remote South Island in New Zealand, this thick honey is harvested from uncultivated dandelions. Enjoy it on hot buttered toast, drizzled on oatmeal or in any of your favorite recipes! Get it here!

Wild Rata honey

Sourced from the beautiful crimson red wild rata trees native to the remote, protected high elevation areas of New Zealand’s South Island, this unique-tasting, rare honey is considered by many connoisseurs as one of the finest honeys in the world. It’s mild, buttery flavor pairs wonderfully well with fresh strawberries or other fruits! Get it here!

Beechwood honey

This dark amber honey has a perfect consistency for drizzling over seasonal fruits, pancakes or over your morning’s Greek yogurt. Try it with goat or blue cheese on a gourmet cheese plate for a unique, rich flavor pairing! Get it here!

Easy No-Bake Key Lime Bites with Wild Rata Honey

Key Lime Pie 1

I’m not much of a baker — all the precise measurements and exactitude of baking scare me. I’m much more of a taste-as-you-go cook, adding spices and mixing until I get it right. That’s why I was so pleasantly surprised to find this recipe for Easy No-Bake Key Lime Bites; no baking means easy preparation during busy summertime days and few ingredients makes this recipe appropriate for even the most novice dessert-maker (like me). These tasty, simple bites are perfect for your next outdoor get-together! Best part is, no baking means a cool house on a hot summer day! Pair them with our Rata Berry Cocktail for a refreshing new take on barbecue-worthy treats. #summerhoneylove

From Face to Feet – DIY Fir Body Scrub

Wedderspoon Salt Scrub 3

It’s that time of the year again —  the season when we break out our flip-flops and shorts from out of boxes and underneath beds, sweep off the dust bunnies and proudly bare our skin once more. I usually rejoice when I get to strip away winter’s layers and pare down my wardrobe to summer basics but unfortunately this year my skin is in need of some serious summer TLC. So, off to my DIY kitchen I went, armed with my favorite ingredients to exfoliate my dry skin. After slathering on this clean concoction, I was left with soft, glowing skin that smelled divine! I loved that instead of environmentally damaging microbeads, this mix is all natural and non-toxic. This scrub can be used anywhere you need some gentle buffing, from face to feet! #summerhoneylove

(There’s no better time to try your hand at this DIY homage to green beauty, Fir honey is 25% off now!)

Wedderspoon Salt Scrub 2

Mix all ingredients together in whatever quantities you see fit — I make mine with equal parts of each! Apply the mix on warm, slightly damp skin and exfoliate in a circular motion (don’t press too hard)! You can allow the mix to sit on your skin for five minutes so the ingredients can do their work, then rinse off well with warm water and pat dry. Voila!

Treat Your Mom – Courtesy of Wedderspoon

Wedderspoon April 16

As a new mom, Mother’s Day has taken on different meaning for me this year. In the past I’ve bought the obligatory flower/card combination for my own amazing mother and though I indeed wanted to honor her, I didn’t fully realize the importance of the day before embarking on my own journey in motherhood.

More than just one day, May 10 is a symbol —  a tribute to the overwhelming and profound love a mother has for her child. It signifies countless nights awake rocking my own girl to sleep, a thousand shared giggles and fierce hugs through tears because sometimes, only mama will do.

Wedderspoon wishes to honor, pamper and indulge all the mothers in our lives with this year’s Mother’s Day Spa Package. It includes our 100% Raw Organic Manuka Honey 12+, our Organic Peppermint Lip Balm with Manuka Honey and Peppermint and your choice of either Manuka Honey and Oatmeal Soap or Manuka Honey with Tea Tree Soap. As always, we promise to provide the highest quality honey and honey products, especially on your mom’s special day.

FELIZ Cinco de Mayo – Rata – Infused Watermelon Margaritas

FELIZ Cinco de Mayo — Watermelon Margaritas with 100% Raw Wild Rata Honey

For our second installment of #summerhoneylove, we concocted a refreshing take on an old classic – the margarita. Without the added sugar and calories of triple sec and margarita mix, we instead poured fresh lime juice, juicy watermelon and a spoonful of our 100% Raw Wild Rata honey (for a touch of sweetness) into our blender and voila! The seriously tasty Wedderspoon Rata-infused Watermelon Margarita was born. Try yours with mint ice cubes (recipe here) for an added boost of summer flavor.

Feliz Cinco de Mayo, all!
