Though Vitamin D is necessary for health, overexposure can lead to sunburn and premature skin aging. Take care of your skin by using organic and mineral sunscreens or covering up. You only need about 10 minutes of midday sun to get your daily dose of the vitamin so use that umbrella for the rest of your time outdoors!

Time to break out the flip flops and shorts! Created with our favorite ingredients to exfoliate dry skin, this clean concoction will leave you with soft, glowing skin that smells divine!  Shop our Fir honey 325g here.

After exfoliating, we make sure to slather on our favorite body lotion to lock in hydration. Our picks are always made with organic ingredients without any of the unnecessary toxic stuff!

Raw Honey Praline Bites w/ Chocolate Drizzle

Makes about 9 bites

Ingredients:

BITES

6 oz raw pecans

2 oz shredded coconut

7 oz pitted dates

2 oz Wedderspoon Beechwood Honey

pinch of salt

pinch of vanilla powder

CHOC DRIZZLE

1 oz coconut oil, gently melted

.5 oz Wedderspoon Beechwood Honey

.5 oz raw cacao powder

pinch of salt

Toppings: pecans, coconut flakes, cacao nibs…

Directions:

  1. Pulse pecans, coconut, salt, and vanilla in food processor until very fine
  2. Add dates and honey, pulse until dough forms. Taste! A little salt is good in this recipe as it brings out the toffee flavours in the pecans, dates, and honey.
  3. Press dough in pan. We used a 3×3 square lined with parchment for easy removal
  4. Allow to set in freezer for one hour
  5. Mix melted oil, honey, salt and cacao to make the drizzle
  6. Remove bites from freezer, cut into desired pieces, then drizzle chocolate; we also garnished ours with whole pecans
  7. Keep in fridge up to a week or store in freezer if they last that long!

Seasonal Satisfaction – Pumpkin Spice Granola with Manuka Honey

granola recipe

Ever a fan of the ubiquitous fall pumpkin spice latte, this year I’ve begun exploring other non-caffeinated ways to appease my seasonal pumpkin cravings. So, when our resident kitchen maverick, Haley, concocted this Pumpkin Spice Granola using our newest Limited Edition KFactor 22 Manuka Honey, I was thrilled. Not only is this granola delicious and healthy, it’s also an incredibly convenient snack perfect for keeping your energy up while you enjoy the last of these beautiful autumn days! Eat up!

Ingredients:

-2 cups old-fashioned oats (use certified gluten-free oats if making this GF)

-1 cup raw pecan halves

-1 cup raw pumpkin seeds

-1/4 cup Wedderspoon Raw Manuka Honey KFactor 22

-1/4 cup melted coconut oil

-1/4 cup pumpkin puree

-1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

-1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
-1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)

-1/2 cup shredded or shaved coconut

Directions:

Heat oven to 350°F. Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray, or line it with parchment paper. Set aside.

Combine the oats, pumpkin seeds and pecans in a large mixing bowl.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the Manuka honey, melted coconut oil, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, and salt together until smooth.

Pour the Manuka Honey syrup mixture over the oats mixture, and toss until everything is evenly mixed.

Spread the granola mixture out evenly on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and add in the coconut (if using) and give everything a good stir.

Return the granola to the oven and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the mixture is golden. Remove and let the granola cool until it reaches room temperature.

From Face to Feet – DIY Fir Body Scrub

Wedderspoon Salt Scrub 3

It’s that time of the year again —  the season when we break out our flip-flops and shorts from out of boxes and underneath beds, sweep off the dust bunnies and proudly bare our skin once more. I usually rejoice when I get to strip away winter’s layers and pare down my wardrobe to summer basics but unfortunately this year my skin is in need of some serious summer TLC. So, off to my DIY kitchen I went, armed with my favorite ingredients to exfoliate my dry skin. After slathering on this clean concoction, I was left with soft, glowing skin that smelled divine! I loved that instead of environmentally damaging microbeads, this mix is all natural and non-toxic. This scrub can be used anywhere you need some gentle buffing, from face to feet! #summerhoneylove

(There’s no better time to try your hand at this DIY homage to green beauty, Fir honey is 25% off now!)

Wedderspoon Salt Scrub 2

Mix all ingredients together in whatever quantities you see fit — I make mine with equal parts of each! Apply the mix on warm, slightly damp skin and exfoliate in a circular motion (don’t press too hard)! You can allow the mix to sit on your skin for five minutes so the ingredients can do their work, then rinse off well with warm water and pat dry. Voila!
